A countryside wedding is a unique experience for everyone
Eyvindartunga stands at Laugarvatn, about an hour’s drive (78 km) from Reykjavík. The farm boasts a newly renovated barn, which can host parties for 126 guests, the old apartment building, a cottage for a total of 16 guests, and a private camping site with green electricity.
By renting the place from Friday afternoon to Sunday, you will have the opportunity to enjoy the country bliss and complete your wedding preparations in peace and quiet with your loved ones.

The experience
Second part of Friday
On the arrival of the second part of Friday, the family and friends can have a happy day with the final preparations for the wedding and enjoy the quietness of the countryside at the campsite, in the old town or in the cottage the night before the big day.
Saturday morning
On the Saturday morning before the ceremony, the barn will be opened to receive any merchandise. Then it is ideal to decorate the space and musicians can bring their instruments and set up a sound system. You can always call on an employee for help.
The wedding ceremony
The wedding ceremony itself can take place in many places. In the vicinity there are beautiful places in nature, and small beautiful churches, e.g. in Miðdal, Haukadal and on Mosfell. Skálholtskirkja (a 20-minute drive away) is larger and one of the most impressive churches in the country. It is also possible to hold the ceremony in Eyvindartunga, whether it is outside or inside the door.
Staff
Eyvindartunga’s staff is in charge of everything regarding the evening, but of course welcomes catering staff and other outside staff. Eyvindartunga’s staff makes sure that everything runs smoothly until the party ends around 3 in the night.
Sunday morning
The Barn will be reopened at 11 on Sunday morning so you can pick up gifts, decorations and other things left over from the night before. It is also ideal to have a cup of coffee together before everyone goes their separate ways at 1:00 p.m. – or when the fun continues in Laugarvatn Fontana or on less traveled trails here in the uplands of Árnes County.

What do I need to know?

Included in rent
- Rent the hall from Friday at 16 to Sunday at 13.
- The hall is closed between 3 and at 11 on Sunday and open between 11 and at 13 to collect items from the hall.
- Tables, chairs and tablecloths for 125 people.
- Glassware, plates and cutlery.
- Sound system with speakers, two microphones, mixer with HDMI/AUX/Bluetooth, wall-mounted projector connected to HDMI and piano.
- A variety of furniture, lights and decorations.
- Two on-site meetings, i.e. first site inspection and second visit before the wedding weekend.
- One employee of Eyvindartunga to open the hall for additional service providers and answer questions, Saturday telephone shift and Sunday morning between 11 am and 1 pm.
- Up to two hours to plan the roles of the employees and the planned sequence of events.
Staff
Eyvindartunga works with staff from the area and assigns them roles at the wedding in accordance with the plan that is in place. We can also recommend contractors for more specialized services. Employees will ensure that the premises are returned as they were arranged.
We will assist you in scheduling the work of the staff for the evening, and determine whether it is necessary to hire additional staff. Please note that staff salaries are not included in the rental price of the hall. They depend on the length of the party and the level of service. Banquet and bar services
In Eyvindartunga there is a reception kitchen where caterers or you yourself with your own catering are welcome. We have good experience of working with a variety of suppliers and service providers in the region that we can wholeheartedly recommend.
We manage the bar and can order wine glasses for the party, but you are also welcome to bring your own drinks for a corkage fee.
Accommodation
In Eyvindartunga, there is sleeping space for 16 people in the old apartment building and the summer cottage. Both houses are automatically reserved for the wedding so you have the place for you and your guests. The lawn behind the barn has electrical hookups for up to 24 caravans, motorhomes and tents. Electricity in the area comes from two hydroelectric power plants located in the land of Eyvindartunga. The accommodation is not included in the rent of the hall, but the camping area is included in the rent of the old apartment building.
Popular holiday home areas, quite a few hotels and guesthouses are within a 20-minute drive from Eyvindartunga.
All accommodation in Eyvindartunga is reserved in advance for weddings and is booked directly through us.
